Nail Trends

So, I know we only have about four weeks of summer left, so there isn't much time left to rock a lot of summer colors, but I just want to throw a couple out there that we can still rock real quick lol and then talk about a few other trends that I love now, as well as some FALL colors that we will be rocking soon! I am attaching a few of my own pics to show you all my fav. colors and trends that I like! :)

SUMMER NAIL COLORS: You have your neon, loud, bold, and bright colors, which I LOVE! Those greens, pinks, yellows, oranges, and blues!! They are all so fun! I am partial to orange! I call it "Sunkist". It's just a cheap shade from the drugstore in the pic. I honestly can't think of the brand!! :( As well as this pretty pink from OPI called "Sparrow Me With Your Drama".

Current Nail Trend: The main trend I am seeing around my city is the "Crackle" or "Shatter" as some call it. I have posted on it before. Wasn't quite the fan. I don't think I was doing it the right way! I have no patience and didn't wait until the color had dried completely before I shattered it! Ha! But I tried it again and I like it! I purchased both the SIlver and Black Shatter (from the OPI Katy Perry collection) and the pic posted is the Silver on top of an OPI blue color. China Glaze and Sally Hansen both have created their own brand of the Crackle Polish which can be purchased at local drugstores, SallyHansen.com, Ulta, Amazon.com, ChinaGlaze.com, and ALL Sally Beauty Stores!! :)

FALL NAIL COLORS: A few fall colors that I think will be all the rage are: Grape, (dark, rich purple), Silver, Grey, Earthy Green, Dark Blue, Deep Red (think wine colored), Rust (darker orange, and Browns (all shades)!!! I will definitely be experimenting with these colors within the next few months and will post pics and will also review on Twitter. VIOLENT LIPS!

Violent Lips also known as Lip Minx (like the nail trend) is the newest craze to hit the skreets! They are like a temporary tattoo for the lip and have been seen on celebs such as Keyshia Cole (pictured) and Melody Thornton of the PCD. The patterns are leopard, fishnet, and glitter! I think they are adorable and can't wait to purchase them! I love the fact that are FDA approved and were NOT tested on animals!! Awesome! Also, Violent Lips last from 4-8 hours!

NAIL ROCK!!!!!!!!!

So, Nail Rock is a new trend similar to Minx. It is way cheaper than Minx and you can apply them YOURSELF!!!! They can be applied with just a hair dryer and removal is very simple, just peel them right off. I purchased the gold ones and the cheetah ones and was pleasantly surprised! They were created by an celebrity manicurist named Zoe Pocock and can be purchased at www.topshop.com.

Katy Perry and OPI

Pop Star Katy Perry has teamed up with OPI to launch her nail polish collection! It is gorgeous! The colors range from silver to plum. There is also an awesome color called Black Shatter which creates a "crackled" or "shattered" effect when applied over one of the dried Katy Perry Colors. Here I am with my personal fav. of her collection called Teenage Dream and one "shattered" nail (this was a rough draft lol). VH1's Love & Hip-Hop

Olivia, Emily Bustamente, Mashonda Tifere, Chrissy Lampkin, and Somaya Reece are all the stars of VH1's new reality show titled "Love and hip-hop". I am dying to see this! It follows Olivia, former first lady of G-Unit and her comeback, Emily B and her relationship to rapper Fabulous, Mashonda getting over her bitter divorce from Swizz Beats, Chrissy and her relationship with rapper Jim Jones, and new rapper Somaya Reece. This show is full of emotion, drama, and will sure to be a hit! Below is the official trailer from VH1. Pictured are Olivia, Chrissy, and Emily B.
